Dybala will not join Real Madrid

Ronaldo & Dybala

According to Argentinian journalist Mauricio Hidalgo from Diario OLE, Juventus has agreed on a price tag for the sale of Paulo Dybala to Real Madrid. The reported sum is somewhere in the region of $180-200 million Euros with Dybala set to earn 16 million annually. With two days remaining in the Spanish transfer market, anything is still possible.

After losing Ronaldo to Juve, they have without a doubt been looking for a replacement. It’s the perfect opportunity for Bale to show off exactly what he can do when not injured, especially when he’s no longer in the shadow of Ronaldo. At 30 years old, Benzema’s game will undoubtedly start to dip down and will need to be replaced sooner or later.

They have reinforced their attack with incoming wonder-kid Vinícius Júnior but he still has a lot of maturing to do at his tender age of 18. I expect him to be on the bench most of the season, only coming in as a substitute as he develops his game. Earlier today Real re-signed Olympiacos striker Mariano in a deal worth around €30 million.

In my opinion, Mariano is a very promising striker at only 25 years old. Last year in Ligue 1 alone, he managed to score 18 goals + 4 assists in 34 appearances. While this is nowhere near the numbers Ronaldo put up, I’m sure they have realized the only way to replace his goal scoring output is to have multiple players reach 15-20 goals this season.

Enter Dybala, a proven goalscorer with limitless potential. One of the few footballers in the world that would make sense to replace someone of Ronaldo’s caliber with. As a Juve fan, I’ve seen just how good of a player he is. He can make something out of nothing with his killer instincts and left foot. It’s not surprising that the biggest clubs in the world are more than interested in his services, like Real.

Although, I personally highly doubt the authenticity of the suggested transfer. Having been handed the prestigious #10 jersey number, I’m more than sure that Dybala understands that Juve wants to build the team around him. He’s simply that promising of a player and the fans absolutely love him.

This was reinforced in the historic Villar Perosa game, a tradition of Juventus where the first team plays the B team before the start of the season. When Chiellini, our new captain was substituted off, Dybala was then handed the captains armband. With the departure of many Juve legends this summer, with the latest having been Marchisio, he is clearly the next in line to captain our team. Even with Bonucci having come back, I don’t see him getting that honor after having temporarily left. He also seems to have grown very close to a lot of his teammates.

There’s also a great sense of optimism for what this current team can accomplish. Having reinforced key positions like at right back (Cancelo), midfielder (Can), goalkeeper (Perin) and upgrading our striker (Higuain) with Ronaldo, we are a very strong team. There’s no reason to want to go to a club like Madrid that will surely go through a rebuilding process with the many ageing players currently on their payroll. Not to mention Juve have offered him many contract renewals to further show our commitment to wanting him at the club.

Sorry Real, but Dybala is ours. Go get your own Joya at Shane Co. or another Diamond vender.
